The Grok Bot alternative for companies.

Grok Bot runs agents on a cloud computer that sign into your apps. Brainstack adds what a company needs around them: one brain with a file for every client, access for each person, your choice of AI and a server only your company uses.

What it does well

  • Several Bots can share a thread, with a Chief of Staff Bot coordinating them.
  • Real team controls on paid plans: shared Bots, admin rules, approvals checked by a separate model.

What it does for a company

  • One company brain with a living file per client and the source of every fact.
  • Access for each person, the same in the app and in their own Claude or ChatGPT.
  • Agents with a job, a schedule and a dashboard, that ask you before anything leaves.

The short answerGrok Bot is the most team-ready of the new personal agents, and it is still in beta. What it doesn't give you is a company brain with a living file per client and access set fact by fact, a choice of AI, or a server of your own. If those matter, Brainstack is the better fit, at one price for the company instead of per seat.

Side by side, need by need.

Same question. Different access.

A personal agent knows one person. Brainstack keeps one brain for the whole company and answers each person with only what their role allows, from the app or from their own AI.

Who should pick which.

Stay with Grok Bot if

  • You already pay SuperGrok or Cursor and want Bots on top.
  • Your work lives in apps with no API that a Bot must click through.
  • You are happy with xAI's models and a beta product.

Choose Brainstack if

  • You want a living file per client, with the source of every fact.
  • Access has to be set per person: Finance sees margins, Sales doesn't.
  • You want to pick Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, and one price for the whole company.

Where Brainstack falls short: it doesn't run personal errands, there is no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 yet, and you bring your own Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini plan.

Three steps to your first agent.

  1. 1

    Connect your tools

Gmail, Drive, Notion, your CRM. The brain builds a living file per client from them.

  2. 2

    Invite your team

Give each person a role. That decides what they see, in the app and in their own AI.

    Switch on your first agent

Pick a role, set its schedule and what needs your approval. It starts on the next run.

Questions, answered.

Grok Bot has team features. Why switch?

It does, and they are solid. The difference is what sits under the agents. Brainstack keeps one company brain, a living file per client with sources, and decides what each person can see in it. It also runs on the AI your company chooses and on a server only your company uses.

How do the prices compare for a team?

Grok Bot for teams is $120 per seat per month, so 10 people pay $1,200. Brainstack Growth is $499 per month for up to 10 people and 10 agents, plus the AI plan your company pays to Anthropic, OpenAI or Google.

Can I choose the AI model?

Not in Grok Bot: an automatic router picks xAI models. In Brainstack you connect your company's Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini plan.

Is Brainstack a personal assistant?

No. It is built for a company's work: clients, invoices, inbox, sales and support. Each person can still ask the company brain from their own Claude or ChatGPT, and gets only what their role allows.

What does Brainstack cost?

Starter is $99 a month, Growth $499 and Scale $999, for the whole company. On top, you pay your company's AI plan (Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini) directly to the provider. We add no margin. Custom is priced with you.

Where does my data live?

On a server only your company uses, in the US or Europe, with encrypted backups every 6 hours. Your AI provider processes what an agent or a person sends it, under the terms of your plan.

Do you have SOC 2 or ISO 27001?

Not yet. What we do have: one server per customer, permissions per person, approvals before anything leaves, a record of what each agent did, and GDPR terms.
